Michigan is a NCAA football team and Obviously a NCAA program to other sports too but we are here to talk about their football team. First they are a D1 school aka a FBS team, they are in 1 of the best divisions in college football which is the BIG TEN east which includes the BIG 3. Ohio state, Michigan, and Penn state have been the big 3 in this conference for a while now, their all time record as a football team is 997-353-36 which means they won 997 games all time, loss 353 games all time and tied 36 games all time. They’ve won 2 big ten championships against Purdue and Iowa which are both teams in the big ten west. The reason they haven’t won more is because Ohio state has defeated Michigan to make them be in more championship games and they have the number 1 stadium capacity in America which brings me to my next thing.

It’s Michigan and Ohio state the greatest rivalry in history and here is why. the first time the teams went head-to-head was in 1897 ever Since that game an enduring battle has grown. There’s been fights, broken bones, and a great football game every year when these two teams play, Michigan has beaten Ohio state 2 straight years and Ryan days [ohio state head coach] job is on the line this year. Michigan leads the all series win record with 60 and ohio state is trailing by 9 games with 51 wins against Michigan. Ohio state has a chance to tie Michigan if they can get themselves together and prepare for “The Game”

Michigan’s defense

Michigan has 1 of the best defenses in college football. every year they lead the league in defensive PPG. Right now in 2023 it is 6.7 DPP allowed. they lead the league In defensive yards allowed which is 210.23 yards allowed and defensive turnovers which is +11 which is really really good for a defense like Michigan’s. also when they play Ohio state and Penn state, they usually only allow 110 yards a game because the defense gets in the offenses head which makes them play bad and the other team turns over the ball more.
