Opinions On VR
I love VR and most of the games in VR. I have some cool games like Gorilla Tag, Among Us VR and more! They are really cool games on VR. I own a Meta Quest 3s and my username is CTOT2013, so friend me if you want!
VR’s History
VR dates back to the 1800s as the invention of stereoscope (using twin mirrors to project an image). Then about a century later they created the View Master where they basically use plastic toys, but you use a color photo to slide in to create stereoscope, These were invented in 1939 and still being made to this day. Then in the 50s and 60s is when VR was becoming more advanced. In 1957, Morton Heilig created ‘’Sensorama’’ to create a more cinematic experience with 3d visuals and more. Then in 1968 the first VR/AR was created, Created by Ivan Sutherland, and Bob Sproull while creating the first VR game called Sword of Damocles. Then VR went more popular around the 90s and Nintendo created the Virtual Boy in 1995, but failed for causing headaches and the red and black colors and having to be in an uncomfortable position when playing. The VB did not have many games with only 14 released in North America and 19 in Japan. Then VR was not very popular in the 2000s, but in the mid 2010s it became more popular. In 2016 The Oculus Rift released, and was very successful, same in the 2020s when the Meta Quest 2 Released and VR became popular even more. For more information go here
Oculus
Oculus is a very popular company, creating some of the most popular VR headsets which include the Oculus Rift, and The Oculus Quest 2, (AKA Meta Quest 2). First the Oculus Rift Dev Kit. It released in 2013 and was very successful. Then in 2014, Facebook bought Oculus for $2,000,000,000. It was a big deal. Then in 2016, the Oculus Rift releases in 2016, and was a huge success and was popular in social media. Then in 2020, the Meta Quest 2 had went through the same phase as the OR in popularity. Now we come to today where the Meta Quest 4 was being rumored to release in late 2026/ early 2027.
How I got into VR
I got into VR because one of my friends got a VR headset for his birthday, Then I watched this YouTuber named Griffmas, He makes funny videos where he scares lots of kids. His videos are very funny and had me laughing my eyes off! Here’s a video.
My Favorite Games on VR
There are many fun games on VR, Here my 3 favorite games for VR. Gorilla Tag, Among Us VR, and Rec Room. These are my favorite games on VR and play the games with my friends. Gorilla Tag for all the very fun arcade games and all the mini games. Among Us VR for being fun as the original, and arguing with other kids. And Rec Room for all the cool games people made.
