did you ever wonder what a Capybara’s diet is? Well if you were I’m going to tell you!
Capybaras are mainly herbivores and herbivores eat grass, plants etc. I think that it’s super cool that they are herbivores I thought that maybe before I researched that they were omnivores! Well we all learned something new today huh?

the Capybara’s lifespan
capybaras can live up to 10 years in the wild, and 12 years in captivity! Isn’t that crazy? The reason why they don’t live older in the wild is because of all the human threats they deal with everyday, isn’t that sad? I think 10 years in the wild is actually a reasonable amount of time to live! Especially if you’re living in the wild. Try living in the wild for 10 years, it would be hard right?

fun facts about the Capybara
the capybara’s scientific name is actually Hydrochoerus Hydrochaeris! I think that’s a pretty confusing name don’t you? Did you know that the capybara is the biggest rodent in the world? That’s soooo cool in my opinion. Their weight can be 77-143 pounds, they are BIG rodents. I love to learn new facts about capybaras everyday.

what are capybaras?
capybaras are short haired rodents, with a blunt snout, short legs, small ears, and almost no tail. I think that it’s kinda cool that they are rodents and short haired I’d love that as a pet.

are capybaras pets?
fun fact, not all U.S. states allow people to own capybaras. You also might have to provide documentation. It relies on social structure. I’m kinda sad that not all U.S. states don’t allow to have capybaras as a pet but maybe when I’m older they will let me have it as an actual pet!

capybaras habitat
capybaras live in semi-aquatic areas some examples of that is ponds, rivers, lakes etc. I think that it’s a good thing that they live in areas like that because then they would have plenty of water and food for them to survive.
